Hi, we are approaching the teenage years, and like you we are confused about what we want to do when we grow up. I know that most kids give up on their dreams due to lack of positive role models, life skills training & self esteem, especially with all the cuts in school funding for creative arts programs.

Gangofhope.com gives us a place to get involved in matters that concerns US, a place to express OUR opinions and begin to make a difference!. Here we can learn from positive role models the steps and tools to creating our personal success, watch training videos on many other topics that they don't teach you in school, such as finance, creative arts, self-esteem and so much more.

Every month Silva interviews one or two positive role models who share their stories of childhood adversity and explain how they overcame obstacles and created success.

  • 130 million out of 625 million school age children do not attend school in developing countries
  • 1.2 million students drop out of high school each year.
  • 1 in 4 California high school students are drop outs, poverty stricken, illiterate and/or in jail. 
  • 60% of inner city kids are raised by single parents.
  • 4 out of 10 students in the U.S. don't graduate.
  • Most students don't see a connection between school and their future career.

  • Dropouts comprise a disproportionate 82 percent of the nation's prison and death-row inmates. They also are more likely to apply for and receive public assistance than graduates or high school.

    A recent report released by an educational advocacy group, America's Promise Alliance, founded by retired general and former Secretary of State Colin Powell finds that almost half of all public high school students in the US' fifty largest cities fail to graduate. Every 26 seconds, a student drop out, that adds up to 1.1. million students per year.
